Derek Lampe was born Edmonton, London, May 20, 1937. He is a living, former professional footballer who played for Fulham FC and represented England Youth, playing in the position of centre half.[1]He is the grandfather of Jack Lampe who signed for West Ham United in July 2009[2] before moving to Glenn Hoddle's Jerez Industrial CF.
As a schoolboy, Derek played in numerous positions from goalkeeeper to centre-forward. Prior to signing up for Fulham, Lampe played for Brettenham Road School, Edmonton. He went on to play centre half for Edmonton Boys. Lampe joined Fulham as a junior in May 1954, and made his first class debut against West Ham United in 1956. He made a total of 96 appearances in all competitions; 88 were in The Football League.[3] Lampe had to retire early due to injuries in 1962.
